Free First Sundays
Every first Sunday of the month free entrance for Archaeological area of Ostia antica, Imperial harbours of Claudius and Trajan, Museum of Roman ships, Necropolis of Portus, Julius II Castle.
Free entry on April 25th, June 2th and November 4, 2024
Archaeological Park of Ostia Antica
OPENING HOURS
Open: from Tuesday to Sunday
Closed: on Mondays, 25th December, January 1st
Opening Hours:
- 8.30AM – 4.30PM (25th October - 28th (or 29th) February, last entrance at 3.30PM);
- 8.30AM – 5.15PM (1st March - 31st March, last entrance at 4.15PM);
- 8.30AM – 7.00PM (1st April – 30th September, last entrance at 6.00PM);
- 8.30AM - 6.30PM (1st October - 24th October, last entrance at 5.30PM).
The Ticket desk closes one hour before the Park closing time.
Ostiense Museum opening hours: 9.30AM - 1.30 PM

Students groups
Free admission to the Archeological area of Ostia Antica is provided for EU students groups, accompanied by their teachers, showing at the ticket desk an official letter - containing the list of partecipants - signed by the head teacher.
Audioguides
Available for single adults, languages ita/eng/fra/ted/esp in two versions: long route 7.00 €; short route 5.00 €.
Audioguide Kids ita/eng: 5.00 €.
Rules of conduct
The route within the archaeological area may appear bumpy. Comfortable clothing and shoes are therefore recommended.
Eating meals and picnics are prohibited inside the archaeological area; the Caffetteria degli Scavi is available, as well as snack and hot and cold drink dispensers.
Dogs are allowed, on a leash for the duration of the visit inside the archaeological area.
Due to its proximity to Fiumicino airport, the archaeological area of Ostia Antica falls within the area of no-drone zone: the use of drones of any kind, even for very low altitude flights, is prohibited.
Imperial Harbours of Claudius and Trajan
The archaeological area is open to the public with the following schedule:
from Tuesday to Sunday:
- 10.00AM-4.30PM (25th October - 28th (or 29th) February, last entrance at 3.30PM);
- 10.00AM-5.00PM (1st March – 24th October at 4.00PM).
Closed on Mondays, 25th December, January 1st.
Entrance: via Portuense 2360, Fiumicino (RM), under the Via dell’Aeroporto di Fiumicino viaduct.

Museum of Roman ships in Fiumicino
New restorations at the Museo delle Navi in Fiumicino: from 22 April work will begin on two boats: the small sailing ship and the so-called fisherman's boat; visitors will be able to follow the work of the restorers on the tour. The Museum will be closed from 18 to 21 April to allow the building site to be set up.
The Museum is open to the public with the following schedule:
- from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 AM to 4.00 PM (last entrance 3.30 PM)
Closed on Mondays, 25th December, January 1st.
The museum will be exceptionally closed from 16 to 19 July 2024.

Necropolis of Porto
The archaeological area is open to the public with the following schedule:
OPENING HOURS: from Tuesday to Sunday 10.30 AM - 4.30 PM (last entrance 4.00 PM)
Closed on Mondays, 25th December, January 1st.
Entrance: main gate in via Monte Spinoncia 52; from via dell’Aeroporto di Fiumicino, turn on the right to via Cima Cristallo, then turn on the left to via Pal Piccolo.
